Currently I teach at both Florida International University and Miami Dade College – Kendall campus. It is at MDC where I founded the modern Religious Studies program and at F.I.U. where I was one of the first to use a multi-media room in the teaching of a core curricula course—English composition. I continue to teach at both where I enjoy working with students as colleagues. I believe that good teacher is a good student and enjoy much that I have learned from my students.
-- Excellence In Teaching Award, 2000 –first adjunct to win this in the FIU English department.

Currently I am the founding minister of All Souls Miami, an independent liberal congregation in the Kendall area of greater Miami. In 2012 All Souls expanded its vision and affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. I then sought affiliation and my credentials are now as an Associate Member, Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association.

I am married to Maria Teresa Estrada, have 4 grown children, several grandchildren and enjoys golf (at which I consistently find water, sand, trees and hazards usually not found on golf courses), reading fantasy, thrillers and other distractions as well as enjoying movies and my hounds.
